the creation of a sanctuary
Sanctuary Scents was created in Washington,DC during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Stuck in the house bored, out of work, and feeling extremely uninspired, there was a desperate need for change and more importantly a hobby.
I thought about how I could make my home which I was now trapped in more peaceful and relaxing.
In college I would cover my walls in pictures of my favorite memories with my family and friends. This way when I missed them or I was sad I could just look at those pictures. When I was stressed I would burn my favorite candle, blast music and dance or sometimes even cry.
What I didn't realize was I was making my dorm and my little apartment my own little sanctuary. So after a long night down the internet rabbit hole Sanctuary Scents was born !
Each scent reminisce a pleasant memory, funny joke or insider within my community. This is in hopes that by bringing smells into peoples home that remind them of joy and peace that I can help make their homes a sanctuary.

These candles are for the powerful women who come home from work, kick off their shoes, pour their favorite glass of wine and light, "The Vibe" to leave all their stress at the door.

It's for the men studying to be the next Doctor, Lawyer or CEO who rushed to clean up their space for their date this weekend and need "Summer Crush" to really set the tone.

The hope is that these candles could not only smell good but help people feel good too !
